Mayfield Parochial Church Council (PCC) encourages everybody interested in supporting the work and life of our church to join the Parish Giving Scheme and commit to giving a regular donation. The PCC do not receive any government or central church funding and relies solely on voluntary donations for the day to day running and maintenance of our Parish Church – St Dunstan’s
Donations made into the Parish Giving Scheme can be gift aided if you pay income or capital gains tax thereby increasing their value by 25%. If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can reduce the cost of your donation by claiming back from HMRC the difference between your higher rate and the basic rate of income tax.
Currently, the PCC’s everyday financial outgoings to pay salaries, utility bills, supplies, administration, churchyard and London House amount to some £55,000 per annum. In addition, our obligatory Parish Giving to the Chichester Diocese is £65,000 per annum. This covers the costs of clergy stipends and pensions, vicarage maintenance, insurance, clergy training, Church of England schools, Church House administration and supporting local parishes.
